The S&P/ASX 100 Index is one of the most used benchmark indices in Australia. The list is comprised of the 100 largest index-eligible Australian Stocks by float-adjusted Market Capitalisation and is continually adjusted to reflect this criteria.
The ASX 100 consists of both large-cap and mid-cap shares and covers approximately 74% of the Australian equity market by way of capitalisation. Due to its size, it is highly suited to large volume, institutional trading and investments.
